Update: 18 months

Dear Lily,
I realize I am a little late writing your 18 month update. I spend most of my days chasing and entertaining you which leaves little time for blog writing. The most significant change from last month is your language development. At some point I'm going to have to stop marveling at the ease of your development milestones. You are now easily combining two words and sometimes you put three words together. You wake up talking and practically go to sleep talking. You have a lot to say. These are some of your favorite things to say: go sleep baby, move Scout, sit down Mommy, Lily eat, pee-pee diaper, Daddy car, blue bowl (or any color combined with any object). You can now request your blanket and binkie which is a big clue that you are sleepy. You found a little picture of Jesus. I told you that it was Jesus. Now you carry the picture around and say "jeez" which also kind of sounds like "cheese." You either call the picture "cheese" or say that it's Daddy. Either way, we should probably take you to church more.

You love to play in your new play kitchen. You pretend to push all the buttons and say "beep." You make us eggs and coffee. You pretend to feed your baby and Elmo. You like to set them in your highchair and take care of them. You are very affectionate and loving. You love to put your ear on my chest and listen to my heart. You love to listen to Daddy's heart as well. You think Bowie and Scout are the greatest. You constantly keep tabs on where they are in the house and give them lots of hugs. Today we put your socks on Scout and you thought that was hilarious. I think Scout liked it a little bit too.

You keep growing and amazing me everyday.

Love,
Mommy

Ohh Sun

Lily,
You continue to wake up really early in the morning. Last night I told you that when the sun wakes up then it's time for you to wake up. I explained that when it's dark outside it's time to sleep. So this morning when you woke up early as you do every day, I could here you sigh "ohhh sun." It was pretty cute!

Love,
Mommy
