Update: 21 months

Dear Lily,
Today you turned 21 months old. This month you have started talking in sentences and your sense of humor along with creativity has emerged. You invented your own play on words which you find hilarious. While we were driving in the car you saw a bus and said "peek-a-bus." Then you started changing "peek-a-boo" to anything that came to your mind such as "peek-a-blanket" and "peek-a-moo." We call Cheerios "ohs." You pointed to the box and said "uh-OHS" and you thought that was hilarious too. Here are some sentences you have been saying recently:
"Here comes Scout"
"Where Daddy go?"
"The sun is sleeping. Moon awake."
"That's not Lily's car."

Your view of the world is fascinating. Upon finding a crumpled piece of paper on the table you picked it up and said "Paper ball!" Then you pretended to bounce it and roll it around. You have an incredible sense of imagination for your age. You came up with a whole imaginary routine on your own. You put your blanket on your back and called it a jacket. Then said "bye-bye" and ran to the front door to get a pizza. You gave your pretend money to the pretend pizza man than ran back to the couch. You did this about a hundred times.

Games you currently love include playing doctor, tea parties, playing in your kitchen, pretend shopping, pushing your baby in her stroller, coloring, and playing with your dollhouse.

You have memorized dozens of your books. You can recall the titles to all of your books and details that I don't even remember in a story. You remember everything and I'm always surprised when you remember some small detail of a past event.

The following are some pictures from this month:

On New Year's Eve we counted down to noon at the Please Touch Museum. There was an overwhelming number of people who were there and you weren't too sure what to make of the crowd:

We have had several snow storms this month. You went sledding for the first time (it was Daddy's first time too). You had a big smile on your face each time you went down that hill. After the weather warmed up a little we decided to make a snowman before all the snow melted:

We went to Adventure Aquarium with your buddy Xander. Here you are inside a shark tunnel. You were mesmerized by all the sea creatures:

You had the opportunity to touch tiny sting rays. Of course you wouldn't go near them but you had fun splashing in the water:

Posing for a picture at the parrot exhibit:

You pretended this rock was a bed:

On one of the snowy days we had a pajama and pancake morning at Xander's house. You look a little sleepy in this picture:

Here is a video of you playing with your dollhouse. You are very specific about how you like all the furniture arranged:

Love,
Mommy
